SUBJECT: Mighty Mohave Monthly - April 2025

Mighty Mohave Monthly - April 2025

Mohave families,

First thing's first: Don't worry about dinner tomorrow night, because Texas Roadhouse is donating 10 percent of sales back to Mohave PTO, 3-10 p.m. Join us for this fun dine-out, Thursday, April 3, at Texas Roadhouse!

Now that you have dinner taken care of, we can get down to business. In March, we formed committees for end-of-year activities like Teacher Appreciation Week and 8th Grade Dance. And speaking of teacher appreciation, Mohave PTO was proud to provide lunch for hard-working Mohave staff during Parent-Teacher Conferences, March 27-28. We also locked in the date for the 2nd Annual Wildcat Classic Golf Tournament, Saturday, Sept. 20, 8 a.m. at Talking Stick Golf Club.

Our last PTO meeting was on March 24, and if you weren’t able to join us, you can review the meeting minutes here. Our next meeting will be Monday, April 21, at 6:15 p.m. at the Vig McCormick Ranch. We'll be electing PTO board members for the 2025-26 school year, as well as celebrating everyone who volunteered this school year to help make Mohave mighty - don't miss this one!

We look forward to seeing you at Texas Roadhouse tomorrow and the Vig later this month.

Texas Roadhouse Dine-Out, April 3, 3-10 p.m.

Whether you fill up on rolls and cinnamon butter, or you treat yourself to a steak dinner (or both!), mention Mohave and 10 percent of your tab will go back to Mohave PTO tomorrow at Texas Roadhouse. It's a great way to feed your hungry track athlete after practice or just a fun night out for the family. We hope to see you there!

Mohave PTO Board Elections - April 21

We will be electing board members for the 2025-26 school year on April 21, and want your input! The nominating committee presented their recommended slate at the March 24 PTO meeting:

  • President: Ann Glaser
  • Co-Vice President: Cindy Threadgill
  • Co-Vice President: Missy Foegal
  • Treasurer: Michelle Brierton
  • Secretary: Amy O'Hara
  • Director At Large: Micah Hubbell
  • Director At Large: Myra Reddy

Nominations will also be accepted from the floor, so if you or someone you know has an interest in running, please attend the meeting on April 21. And be sure to attend to cast your vote!

Thank you to nominating committee members Elizabeth Halverson and Jenny Duran for volunteering your time to assist with this process.

8th Grade Families - Mark Your Calendars!
Save the Date: 2nd Annual Wildcat Classic Golf Tournament

Mark your calendars and work on your swing: the Wildcat Classic Golf Tournament is coming up on Saturday, Sept. 20, at Talking Stick Golf Club!

  • Want to help with the event? Volunteers are encouraged and welcome, no matter your golfing ability!
  • Does your business want marketing exposure to middle school families and supporters? We have great sponsorships available!
  • Do you love to golf? Keep your eyes peeled for registration details to secure your spot for the tournament!
Sixth Grade Guest Speaker Jany Deng

Sixth graders read the book A Long Walk to Water, the story of Salva Dut, and his journey on foot to safety in three refugee camps after fleeing civil war in Sudan. In March, all sixth graders had the opportunity to hear the story of Jany Deng, a local Sudanese refugee, when he spoke at Mohave. Mohave PTO was proud to fund this speaking engagement to support the learning opportunity for our sixth graders. Jany inspired many students, as you can see from the high-fives in the photos!
