SUBJECT: Mighty Mohave Monthly - August 2024

Mighty Mohave Monthly - August 2024

Mohave PTO would like to welcome all incoming and returning students and families to Mohave. We hope everyone enjoyed their summers and we’re all looking forward to a fun and exciting 2024-25 school year.

Mohave PTO supports our teachers and their classrooms, which in turn directly impacts your child(ren). Programs like PAWS (PBIS), teacher supply requests, 8th grade promotion, teacher appreciation, and more, are all made possible by your generous support of Mohave PTO.

This monthly newsletter provides important information about upcoming events, what’s happening on campus and in our learning community, and how we can all work together to support Mohave students, teachers and staff.

New this year, we’ve streamlined communications through Membership Toolkit, which hosts the Mohave PTO website. It’s easy (and free) to create a member profile, which allows you to make donations, access a membership directory, subscribe to this newsletter and more! Sign up now!

We can’t wait to meet everyone and work together to make Mohave mighty!

The 2024-25 Mohave PTO Executive Board includes:

  • President - Ann Glaser

  • Co-Vice President - Michelle Brierton

  • Co-Vice President - Cindy Threadgill

  • Secretary - Amy O'Hara

  • Co-Treasurer - Missy Foegal

  • Co-Treasurer - Lara Palles

Let’s have a great year!

Donation Drive - Now through Aug. 9

Every dollar counts! We have a lot of great ways to support our Mohave learning community this year, and we need your donations to help get us there. Our donation drive is running through Friday, Aug. 9, and we’re asking families to donate $50 - or whatever amount you can - to jump start our fundraising for the year. Click here to donate!

Curriculum Night - Monday, Aug. 19, 6 p.m.

Join us on campus for Curriculum Night, Monday, Aug. 19, 6-8 p.m. You will have the opportunity to tour campus, learn about curriculum, classroom expectations, and meet Mohave staff. Please note the event date, which was updated to ensure families with students at other SUSD schools could attend.

Handel's Dine Out - Early Release Day, Aug. 28, 2-8 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 28, is the first early release day of the school year, so head over to Handel’s (Hilton Village location, 6137 N. Scottsdale Rd.) for an afternoon treat, and they’ll donate 20 percent of your purchase back to Mohave PTO!

Wildcat Classic Golf Tournament - Saturday, Sept. 28

Announcing the first-ever Wildcat Classic Golf Tournament! This exciting event is more than just a day of golf; it’s a chance for our community, businesses and public school advocates to come together and support Mohave Middle School. Sign up to golf (all skill levels welcome!), volunteer to help with the event, and consider sponsoring a hole or providing in-kind donations for prizes. And help us get the word out by sharing this event with friends, family, colleagues and community contacts who might be interested in participating!

Teacher Appreciation - Welcome Back!

We welcomed our wonderful teachers back for the school year with breakfast burritos and a delicious Barro’s lunch during their prep work last week. Thanks to your donations, this is one of many ways we can show our appreciation for all of their hard work and dedication to our students.
